Trading hours for index, bond, commodities, and currency futures contracts are shown below.
We made the observation that DJIA, corn, soybean and wheat are not traded throughout the day. All other futures contracts are traded round the clock.
If traded round the clock, there will be little chance for ‘gap’ up or down. A gap is a large difference in price. For example, from 1.4000 to 1.4030. There is a 30 points gap up.
As the S&P 500 are traded throughout the day, we can monitor its movement before the US market opens. If there is a strong bullish movement, we can continue to hold on to any stocks or DJIA index futures. If there is a strong bearish movement, we can sell at US market’s open, any stocks or DJIA index futures.
